“ARPA” $ means bonuses for front-line social workers

South Carolina DSS says it has been able to distribute $6.1 million in bonuses to the state’s childcare pros.  They amount to one-time wage boosts to those in the early childhood workforce.  SC BOO$T is a federally-funded program using supplemental funds as allowed by regulations of “ARPA” — the American Rescue Plan Act.  The following accolade from Melissa Starker, director of DSS’s Endeavors Program, “Child care teachers and directors tell us it is helping them increase wages, in turn helping with retention.  It’s not too late for eligible early childhood professionals to apply to the SC BOO$T program.”
