Annual meeting nearly a non-event

The annual membership meeting of the Pioneer Rural Water District ended within 10 minutes, after none of the customers took part in a telephone hookup arranged out of deference to the world pandemic.  Everything, including Pioneer’s one-year old treatment plant seems to be properly operating.  The only concern brought up was in a question from board member Eddie Grant.  He wondered if, like last spring, customers will experience poor-tasting water due to algae infiltration.  Treatment plant superintendent Gary Harper responded by saying he’s on top of the situation, and his remarks were followed by Manager Terry Pruitt’s statement that, so far, the office has received no complaints about water quality.
