Animal officers seize one cat and seven dogs

Animal control officers with a search warrant at a Westminster home smelled feces and urine.  The county officers went to a S. Piedmont Street home this month on a welfare check.  Deeming conditions in the home unsanitary, they wound up seizing one cat and seven dogs and charged a 33-year old woman with multiple counts of violating the animal control law.  Amanda Morene Barnes is accused of failing to provide proof of rabies vaccinations for six of the animals.  The sheriff’s office encourages the public to report suspected abuse of animals for further investigation.  Reports may be called to 638-4111 or made anonymously through Crimestoppers at 888/-CRIME-SC.
