Anderson man charged with lottery fraud

An Anderson County man has been jailed, charged by the state police with lottery fraud.  Caleb Crews is charged with intent to defraud, counterfeit game tickets.  An arrest warrant released by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division alleges that Crews on May 9, while working at a highway 28 bypass convenience store, “did attempt to influence the winning of a prize through the use of coercion, fraud, deception or tampering with lottery equipment or materials. The defendant knowingly provided three (3) packs of Scratch Off lottery tickets valued at $900 to a customer and did accept less payment than the face value of the tickets,” according to the affidavit attached to the warrant.
