An appreciation resolution for voters and election workers

The South Carolina Election Commission has passed a resolution of thanks and appreciation to voters for their patience and enthusiasm and to county and state election officials and volunteers for what the five election commissioners call an unwavering commitment to creating and enacting plans to provide safe and accessible registration and voting opportunities for all.  The COVID-19 pandemic created special challenges, but the November 3 elections statewide are regarded as having been conducted safely and securely.  It was an election that attracted 1.3 million South Carolina voters, surpassing the previous record of 503,000 in 2016.  On Election Day, 47% voted in-person; 53% voted absentee.  The turnout was 72%–the highest since 76% in 2008.
