Alvin Edison “Ed” Hunter

Seneca, SC– Alvin Edison “Ed” Hunter, 80, husband of the late Gracie Manley Hunter, of Seneca, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Cottingham Hospice House.

 

A native of Franklin, NC, Mr. Hunter was the son of the late Thomas Hudson and Eunice Singleton Hunter. He was a United States Air Force veteran and a two-time Purple Heart recipient. He retired from Dixie Driving Service as a truck driver. Mr. Hunter was an avid family man; dedicated and devoted his “girls” and his grandson, Zak, along with a multitude of family and friends.

 

Mr. Hunter is survived by his daughter: Stacia Hunter; brothers: Thomas Hunter, Frank Hunter, Walter Hunter, and David Hunter; sisters: Nancy Tallent, Dinah Hunter, and June Hunter; and great-granddaughter: Adelynn Gosnell.

 

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his grandson: Zakahry Hunter; step-daughter: Michelle Moore; brother: James Hunter; and sister: Helen Reynolds.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 23, 2023, at Davenport Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park.

 

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.

The family will be at their respective homes.
