Allen Pickens
Westminster – Robert Allen Pickens, 73, husband of Barbara Barnes Pickens, passed away Friday, December 8th, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Born November 23rd, 1950, in Seneca, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Robert Arnold and Marie Cobb Pickens. Allen was the owner and operator of Pickens Heating and Air and a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church. He was an avid Clemson Tiger Fan, enjoyed spending time on the lake, hanging out with his friends and family, he was known for his laughter and happiness that he shared with anyone who was near him.
Allen is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Barnes Pickens; a sister, Evelyn Pickens Sluder and her husband, Melvin of Westminster; a favorite niece, Lauren Morgan and her husband Scotty of Westminster; great niece and nephew, Alex Morgan (Michaela), Anna Morgan; and two great-great nieces and nephew, Baylor Morgan and Elliott Grace Morgan; his beloved dogs, Natty Pickens and Poncho Pickens; and a long list of special friends whom he considered family.
In addition to his parents, his is preceded in death by his beloved dog, Poco Pickens.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm, Thursday, December 14th, 2023 at the Chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:30 pm, Thursday, December 14th, 2023 at Sandifer Funeral Home prior to the service.
