Alarm raised about rising COVID cases

Dr. Linda Bell, South Carolina state epidemiologist, says that since the start of the pandemic, she has never been more concerned about the state’s health as she is today about the surge of COVID-19, accelerated by the Delta variant.  Unless South Carolinians begin to take better precautions, which include getting vaccinated, she’s fearful that cases that are now exceeding in excess of one thousand a day will increase to five or six thousand a day.  And she’s also concerned about public schools which do not insist on facial coverings, saying that in limited early example the state health agency has detected 68 South Carolina students and 17 school personnel of having already come down with COVID.
