Access to county complex remains limited

Payments of Oconee County taxes are being accepted at the drive-thru at the county government office complex on S. Pine Street, Walhalla.  But the rule of the day is access by Oconeeans to the heart of their county government remains limited, because of COVID-19 concerns.  This morning we asked Amanda Brock, the county administrator, about the morale of the government office workers:  “We’re getting there.  Of course, this is a trying time for everyone.  I have reminded staff walking the halls, ‘Don’t forget your mental health.'”  Brock has recommended that county employees take a few minutes to walk around the building and enjoy today’s sunshine, but to avoid any large gatherings.
