A new summer initiative winds down at Clemson

Students representing nine colleges in the Carolinas came to Clemson University this week to learn about effective communications, as part of the first Clemson Erwin Center Summer Scholars program. The objective is to give students access to industry professionals and offer hands-on training and to advance diversity in the world of brand communication. Students from six historically black colleges and universities took part. They represented Claflin University, Elizabeth City State University, North Carolina Central University, South Carolina State University and Winston-Salem State University. Also represented were Clemson and the University of North Carolina. The program ends at 6 o’clock this evening with a graduation ceremony and banquet at Clemson’s Greenville One campus in downtown Greenville. Katrice Hardy, executive director of the Greenville News and South Regional editor for the USA Network, will deliver the keynote address.
