A mixer for Oconee’s younger generation

A new Seneca business has yet to officially open, but it opened its doors last night to a mixer—a private party that catered to the young of Oconee County. The new Keowee Brewing Company has given a new look to the intersection of E. Main and N. Walnut streets in downtown Seneca. And, last night, there was food outside and beer inside. Mayor Dan Alexander stood at the front, greeting last night’s guests. One of last night’s promoters was Morgan Holcombe, graphic designer at the Oconee Economic Alliance. Holcombe has also taken on the role of the campaign “Think Oconee.” She says those of her age—the millennial generation—want a balance between work and social life. Holcombe and others who are young, such as the county councilman Paul Cain, believe it important for Oconee to welcome young people in the adult community so that they don’t take their talents elsewhere.
