A message from the university president
In a message to the Clemson community, university president James Clements says more than 13,400 students were tested last week and the positivity fell below 1%. Starting today, COVID testing on the main campus returns to Littlejohn Coliseum. Partnering with the Medical University of South Carolina, Clemson will offer a vaccine clinic Monday, April 5 at Littlejohn for a limited number of university employees and students. MUSC Health offers the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. A follow-up date for the required second shot is April 26. Clemson also is one of 21 schools selected for a nationwide clinical trial of Moderna. To be eligible for the trial, students must not have tested positive for COVID-19 previously and need to be in the immediate area of Clemson’s main campus for a consecutive five-month period to ensure weekly testing compliance and the delivery of nasal swabs. Clements says having a high percentage of vaccinated students, faculty, and staff will help Clemson ensure that the fall semester is as safe and normal as possible.
