A meeting before the meeting

The regular March meeting of the Salem Town Council started at 6 o’clock last night, but prior to the mayor and council members were engaged in another meeting in their council chambers. For now, however, Mayor Lynn Towe is not explaining what the meeting pertained to, although it’s believed it had to do with the charter school in town. “We’ll be available to give some information on it at a later date. We are not ready to disclose it right now,” Towe said at the start of last night’s regular meeting. The mayor said the presence of attorney Jim Williams in the meeting was for the purpose of Williams giving the council advice on the matter. During the regular session, the council approved a quote to spend $5,200 dollars to repair multiple leaks to the roof of the charter school building.
