A fourth industrial park for Oconee

The chief industry recruiter in Oconee introduced the idea today to a civic club of a fourth industrial park in the county.  This latest one would take shape on I-85 at exit 4 on 64 acres bought by a developer.  Annie Caggiano of the public-private Oconee Economic Alliance was guest Zoom speaker to the Seneca Rotary Club.  Caggiano likes Oconee’s chances to attract new development and calls the county “a growing mountain community” on the cusp of an 80-thousand person population.  Her goal immediately is to push for the construction of a spec building to be readily accessibility to a company under a tight timeline to expand.  She admits her job at the Oconee Economic Alliance would be made easier if her office had a 200 thousand square foot building to attract a company.
