A first time food summit in Oconee

What is Oconee’s future when it comes to food? Those who care are coming together this month to stage the first Oconee County Food Summit. The event will be 8:30 am to 3:30 pm Friday, February 28 at Seneca’s Trinity Baptist Church. It’s a ticketed event to which one local farmer, Amanda Callahan, looks forward to the many breakout sessions that should provide instructive when it comes to topics such as getting local farmers products into the market place and topics such as food waste. Callahan spoke last night to the Oconee County Agricultural Advisory Board.
