A COVID-19 perspective from lake community

The large Oconee County lake community of Keowee Key is coping with the COVID-19 crisis and coping well, in the opinion, of the man who manages the project. Kevin McCracken also sounded an optimistic tone by saying he believes we’ll emerge from the national emergency with lessons learned to help make the future better. The Key is home to an estimated three thousand population, mostly retirees, many of whom have seen a lot in their lives, including the Second World War, 9-11, the Great Recession, and now a virus that has spread to all 50 states, as well as many parts of the world. Though working life is behind most Keowee Key residents, they remain an active group, many of whom are active exercisers. Keowee Key last year re-opened its rebuilt golf course, which is still open for play, with certain virus precautions taken.
