A case of COVID-19 in South Carolina

A patient from Kershaw County with presumptive positive novel coronavirus (COVID-19), which has been confirmed by DHEC, has been transferred to Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia. An announcement Saturday indicated the patient is in a special isolation room that helps keep both the community and the hospital workers safe.  Prisma Health Dr. Scott Sasser said, “I want to assure everyone that Prisma Health is prepared to respond….”  But, as a reminder to the public, if you believe you may have COVID-19, call your doctor first.
