Yellow-legged hornets destroyed downstate

The Clemson University Department of Plant Industry destroyed multiple nests near Hilton Head Island of yellow-legged hornets, a potentially devastating pest.  The secondary nests were found in trees.  It was a search and destroy mission that included traps and on-site monitoring by department personnel.  Clemson inspectors are asking homeowners to allow them access to their property as they continue their search for other needs in Beaufort and Jasper counties.
