Borg Warner fire investigation

A spokeswoman for Borg Warner, Michelle Collins, says an investigation will try to determine what caused yesterday’s fire in lithium batteries on the assembly line.  Seneca Fire Chief Richie Caudill said it was a difficult fire to extinguish considering fire retardant materials, other than water, were required, followed by ventilating the large Wells Highway building.  Plant employees were evacuated.  They were left to mill around outside the building.  Because of 90-degree weather, Borg Warner made the decision to give them the rest of the day off.
