Non-profit to the aid of Corp. Watts and family

An account created last year by the non-profit Serve and Connect came to the aid this week of the recuperating Oconee deputy Lucas Watts and his family. Kassy Alia Ray, Ph.D., the non-profit founder, and fellow Serve and Connect official Kim Dennis presented the check. For privacy reasons the amount of the check at the request of the family, is not being released.  According to the Serve and Connect website, Kassy Alia founded Serve and Connect after her husband, Gregory Thomas Alia, was shot and killed in 2015 as an officer with the Forest Acres Police Department.
