Green transit gets funding at Clemson

“Clemson’s Driving Forward with Green Transit” project is getting federal funding. Some $4.6 million dollars from the Federal Transit Administration of the U-S DOT is to buy new compressed natural gas buses to replace aging diesel buses.  They are designed for improved service efficiency and to lower operating and maintenance costs.  The federal grant is part of $1.5 billion in funding to support 117 projects to improve public transportation in 47 states.
