The scene of a poultry truck overturn in rural Oconee cleared up early afternoon yesterday, and a blocked section of 123/the Toccoa Highway, was re-opened to thru traffic. The spokesman for the state patrol told 101.7/WGOG NEWS that the Fieldale Farms’ driver was issued a citation alleging too fast for conditions to account for the 7:30 am accident near the Hopewell Church Road. The patrol’s Mitchell Ridgeway said the truck left 123 and hit a guardrail. Chickens were left to roam all over the area, but Chief Smith of the Westminster Fire Department said those chickens were scooped up for return to Fieldale in Baldwin, Georgia.
