Joni Jones Lentine

It is with great sorrow that the family of Joni Jones Lentine of Westminster, SC announces her passing following a short battle with cancer. Our beloved wife, mother, Lola, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away with family by her side on Thursday, July 7.

Joni will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Michael J Lentine; children, Aaron Moses (Anna); Chase Simpson (Rachel); grandsons Koda Moses, Aidyn Simpson & Ramsey Simpson; mother, Marilyn Jones; brother, Michael Jones (Vicki); sisters, Joyce Barrett (Lee), Jackie Ansley (Jerry) and Kim Lynch (Scott); three nieces and four nephews.

Joni was predeceased in death by her father, Johnny D Jones.

Joni shared her zest for life with all who were fortunate to cross her path. She had a loving spirit that overflowed. And even though Joni had many loved ones, special friends, and fur babies Sophie & Buddy, it was her grandchildren who held the biggest part of her heart and completed her circle of life.

Joni had heartfelt compassion for people and during her life felt fortunate that she was able to serve in a healthcare capacity as a physical therapist assistant. She especially enjoyed working with elderly patients where her loving smile alone would touch their hearts and make an impression on their lives. She also loved animals. Prior to her physical therapy days, Joni spent some time caring for them as a veterinary tech assistant. Again, her love and compassion were characteristics that allowed her to be successful in the field. Most recently, Joni enjoyed her role as a sales clerk at Belk. Her vivacious personality, great sense of style, and genuine kindness provided her customers with great service and meaningful conversations.

A family service will be held at a later date. However, we would like to invite family and friends to share in a Celebration of Life nature walk at 9 am on Saturday, July 30 at Ramsey Creek Preserve in Westminster, SC. Joni’s family would love to share time with others who loved her sharing stories and reminiscing about days gone by.

The family would like to thank Dr. Meyers and the staff at Cottingham House in Seneca, SC for their loving care and kindness during her stay.

Memorial donations may be made in the name of Joni Jones Lentine to Cottingham Hospice House, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca, SC 29672. A message of condolence may be written to the family by visiting www.sandiferfuneralhome.com.
