600 applicants for 250 jobs

A recent job fair held at Seneca’s Shaver complex attracted about 600 hopefuls for about 250 jobs.  Richard Blackwell of the Oconee Economic Alliance says the jobs started at entry level and ranged upward.  And some manufacturers, he says, report they’ve already hired some of the applicants.  A sign that the job fair was going to work came early when the organizers spotted a long line before scheduled 4 o’clock opening time.
