32nd Oconee virus case reported yesterday

One additional confirmed case of COVID-19 yesterday increases the Oconee County total to 32.  At the same time, South Carolina DHEC calculations show that with 32 cases, it is estimated there are 197 cases in the county and the possibility of 229.  According to a DHEC note, estimated cases are calculated on evidence that for every known case of COVID-19, there could be up to nine people with the virus who remain unidentified in the community. Statewide yesterday the running number of cases increased by 214, to a new total of 7,142.  Eleven additional deaths were reported:  seven of the 11 in elderly from Darlington, Kershaw, Lexington, Richland, and Williamsburg counties.  Four deaths were in middle-aged persons from Allendale, Fairfield, Richland and Williamsburg counties.
