235 houses are one thing, but what about the traffic?

Seneca City Council assured residents of the South Cove area and Keowee School Road that the Council will request DOT to do an impact study of traffic concerns before the city gives its final approval of a rezoning request for a 235 unit housing development. A developer proposes to build the lakefront community just off South Cove Road inside the city of Seneca. Residents of the area filled the council chamber and eight spokesmen for residents along South Cove and Keowee School roads voiced concern about what they called “already serious congestion” at the intersection of Keowee School Road and Blue Ridge Boulevard. Some of the speakers proposed a new access from South Cove Road to Blue Ridge Boulevard. Some said they were not opposed to the development if the traffic impact of hundreds more cars a day at the intersection can be resolved.
