17-year sentence for crimes in the home

Oconee County prosecutors say 17 years was the prison sentence for a man who pleaded guilty to kidnapping and domestic violence first degree.  Judge Sprouse handed down that sentence yesterday once defendant Tristen Michael Young entered the guilty pleas.  Going into the start of county General Sessions Court, Young had tentatively indicated he wanted a jury to decide his fate, but prosecutors say Young changed his mind and entered the guilty pleas.  Beth Blundy, assistant solicitor, said the crimes occurred in March 2020 at a home on Sweet Nature Drive, in the vicinity of Village Creek community in northern Oconee County.
