168 new cases, eight deaths

Friday’s South Carolina DHEC report showed 168 new cases and eight more deaths.  The deaths were those of two middle-aged persons in Greenville and Lexington counties, along with six elderly persons in Aiken, Beaufort, Charleston, Dorchester, Greenville, and Kershaw.  Among new cases:  three in Anderson and none in either Oconee or Pickens.  DHEC yesterday hosted tele-briefings for faith-based leaders and advocates for environmental justice out of recognition that they play an important role in outreach efforts to protect communities from COVID-19.
