Westminster water revenues post-Pioneer Rural

The city administrator for Westminster says he’ll need another month or so to better gauge the effect on revenue lost from the end of the wholesale water contract with the Pioneer Rural Water District. Chris Carter, city administrator, showed the mayor and council last night the numbers on water usage and revenues since its large wholesale customer went into the business of producing its own water supply earlier this year. To help offset the revenue loss, Westminster raised rates on its retail base. And the question of the extent to which that rate increase will make up for the lost Pioneer contract was a question that lingered during the city council’s October meeting last night.
