Welcoming 29 acres to the Seneca city limits

After finishing its work last night at City Hall, Seneca Planning Commission had laid the groundwork for the city limits to grow by about 29 acres. That’s the estimate given by Ed Halbig, the planning and community development director, after the planning commissioners voted to annex two sets of properties and assign zoning classifications to them. On Radonshire Road in the vicinity of 123 and Lindsay Road, developers have their eyes set on a townhouse complex. Close to Lake Keowee four parcels of land were recommended for incorporation, although a representative of a Greenville company gave no details as to what ultimately might be in store for the properties at S. Cove Road and Julian Davis Drive near the lake. The recommendations by the planning commission are subject to further action by the city council on September 11 and October 9.
