Weekend wreck claims lives of two Walhallans

A two-car accident late Saturday night in Pickens County took the lives of two Walhallans. The deceased have been identified by Gary Duncan, the deputy Pickens County coroner, as 39-year old Deborah Lynn Baynard and 58-year old Randall Joey Luker. Baynard and Luker were identified as friends and, according to state troopers, were passengers in a 1994 Ford Explorer driven by Kenny Crawford, 45 year old Salem resident. Crawford was hurt and taken to the hospital. The accident was reported shortly after 10 pm. A second car, driven by Alizaisha Webb, 19-year old Pickens resident was also traveling Shady Grove Road, scene of the accident. Webb also was hurt and hospitalized. According to an account of the accident from Lance Corporal Bill Ryne of the highway patrol, the Webb car crossed the centerline and struck the Crawford car.
