Walhalla Committee Receives Applications

Walhalla has received about 30 applications from persons who would like to serve on the city’s new diversity & inclusion committee. Mayor Edwards Wednesday said he thinks the committee can be formed by the next few weeks. The committee size, he said, has yet to be determined. The idea for the committee sprung from days of protests over the Civil War memorial on West Main. The intent of the committee, as the mayor explained is to give a voice in city life to minority populations, such as African Americans and Native Americans.
