The mayor pro-tem’s statement is borne out

In the first weeks following the devastating tornado that pummeled parts of the Seneca area, the mayor-pro tem remarked that many people in his area would hurt for a long time.  That statement made by Ronnie O’Kelley at a city council meeting apparently is borne out by what we are hearing from the United Way of Oconee.  LaShauna Harrison, United Way executive director, you can’t imagine the numbers of affected people who still need home repairs.  United Way helped raise around $300 thousand and, to this day, is still getting in grants from the outside.  If your property was damaged and you are still having issues, Harrison urges you to file an initial application with her agency.  You can start that process by dialing 2-1-1.
