The choice is Dean Bare

A retired Tamassee DAR School administrator is the choice to fill the vacancy on the five-member Oconee School Board of Trustees.  The four other trustees, after an executive session late this afternoon, voted to appoint Dean Bare to succeed the late Jerry Lee.  Bare gets to serve the remaining two years of Lee’s term and is scheduled to take the oath of office during the trustees’ November 9 meeting.  Besides Bare, Steve Smith and Richard Blackwell were finalists.  Originally, the field of applicants numbered 12 men and women.  Bare, Smith, and Blackwell were granted interviews.
