TERRY PATTERSON
Salem – Terry Dean Patterson, 76, husband of Hilda Reid Patterson, passed away on Tuesday, August 20th, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 15th, 1948, in Oconee County, South Carolina, Terry was the son of the late
Christopher and Margaret Abraham Patterson. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Terry led a distinguished career in the field of hydroelectric power. He was fortunate to be involved in the building, startup, and completion of both Jocassee and Bad Creek Hydro Stations. He finished his career at Oglethorpe Power Corporation. Throughout his career, Terry has received numerous awards from multiple corporations and energy regulatory agencies at the state and national levels in operator and supervisory capacities.
Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Hilda Reid Patterson; sons, Brian Patterson (Missy) of Salem, South Carolina, John Patterson of Salem, South Carolina; and daughter, Karen P. Jones (Rick) of Salem; two grandchildren, Will Patterson and Darby Casali (Jacob).
In addition to his parents, Terry is preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Patterson; and sisters, Christine Burgess, and Bonnie Burgess.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 24th, 2024 at Reid Family Cemetery in Salem, SC.
