Tennis shoes taken amid home burglary gunfire

An Anderson man at the scene of an Oconee home burglary was wounded by gunfire and required hospital treatment before being arrested.  The Oconee Sheriff’s Office announces three charges against Chauncey Demetrius Williams:  petty larceny, first degree burglary, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.  The sheriff’s office identified the crime scene as a home yesterday afternoon on the Timber Ridge Road near the Shiloh Road.  The larceny warrant states that 26-year old Williams is accused of stealing a pair of tennis shoes.  Two other subjects were identified in the investigation but, based on evidence gathered so far by investigators, one has been cleared of charges. According to the sheriff’s office, “As more facts became available, it was determined a group of individuals burglarized a home while armed.  While on the property, the homeowner discharged a firearm, striking one of the subjects.”
