State to contract in excess of $1 million of local road work

Thanks to the increased coffers that derive from the higher gasoline tax, Oconee County for the next road work season can expect projects valued in excess of one million dollars. The work will break down into thermo and pavement markings, resurfacing along with the new CMRB methods—cement modified recycled base—along with full depth patching and crack seal in Oconee, as well as Pickens County. One of the projects promises a smoother surface to the lengthy SC 28, from 107 to the Georgia line. For more of what the DOT plans in Oconee in 2020, check out 101.7/WGOG NEWS today.
