Stand-alone Starbucks confirmed for Seneca

Seneca will get a standalone Starbucks. That much was confirmed this afternoon to 101.7/WGOG NEWS. As speculated, the location will be the 123 By-Pass where United Community Bank recently closed a branch office near the Miracle Circle.  Word from City Hall is that Starbucks will convert the existing building into a restaurant selling coffee and other refreshments. The building and property there were transferred for $625 thousand, according to Anna Davison, Registrar of Deeds for Oconee County. In the middle of last month a company based in Piedmont—Southeast Construction Resources—paid the city of Seneca a fee which Ed Halbig, planning and community development director, says is preliminary to acquiring an actual builder’s permit.
