Social distancing the rule at Seneca meeting

Chairs were spread apart as social distancing was the rule for this afternoon’s special Seneca City Council meeting.  The meeting started with Mayor Alexander stressing the importance of everyone using wipes and other sanitizing materials to keep down the chance for catching the virus.  The council, without much discussion, adopted a resolution and an emergency ordinance that will give Seneca officials authority to make decisions outside the normal channels of protocol.  By adopting the county’s Hazard Mitigation Plan and the city’s Emergency Ordinance, administrator Scott Moulder explained, positions Seneca to apply for potential FEMA monies to re-imburse city expenses caused by the pandemic virus.
