Sandifer Boulevard called an emerging industrial corridor

In the view of electric power supplier Blue Ridge Electric, the main highway connecting Seneca and Westminster is turning into an industrial corridor, and that requires stepped up customer service.  Fifty years ago 123, commonly called the Sandifer Boulevard, was a ride in the country with both sides of the highway lined by trees.  That continues to change.  A contractor is at work to rebuild and slightly move the Blue Ridge Electric substation located next to the former Taylormade and Dunlop golf ball plant.  Terry Ballenger, Blue Ridge spokesman, says driving the project to the east is the heavy equipment that ACI Plastics has added.  Driving the project on the opposite side is the plan to build a seven-mile transmission line that will connect a second Blue Ridge substation on the Dr. John’s Road.
