Sammy Marcengill

Westminster– Sammy Dean Marcengill, 78, husband of Rebecca Cleland Marcengill, passed away on Tuesday, August 2^nd, 2022 at his residence.

 

Born in Oconee County, South Carolina, Sammy was the son of the late Charlie Marcengill, Sr., and Ethel Owens Marcengill.  Sammy was retired from Michelin, was of the Baptist Faith, and was a veteran with the United States Army National Guard.

 

Sammy is survived by his wife of 58 years; sons, Scott Marcengill (Donna), Matthew Marcengill (Amanda); sister, Evelyn Bond; and grandchildren, Gabriel Marcengill, Aaron Marcengill and Jordan Marcengill.

 

In addition to his parents, Sammy is preceded in death by his brothers, Maurice Marcengill, Charlie Marcengill, Jr.; and his sister, Kathelyn Smith.

 

The family will receive friends and family from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Sandifer Funeral Home.  Per Sammy’s wishes, no formal service will be held.
