Salem man accused of intentionally causing car wreck

A 50-year old Salem man was arrested early Wednesday on three traffic charges, including hit and run accident with property damage.  Both the highway patrol and the sheriff’s office investigated an accident Tuesday afternoon on the Stamp Creek Road, from which Clayton Randall Littleton was charged with hit-run, reckless driving, and malicious injury to personal property.  A second driver, who was attempting to pass a tractor mowing grass, is quoted by a sheriff’s officer as saying that while he maneuvered to pass the grass cutter, a white car approached his rental car from the rear and swerved into the rental.  According to Deputy O’Kelley, a state trooper estimated damage to rental of between eight and 10 thousand dollars.
