Salem committed to a parade this year

A major way that Oconee gets into the spirit of the Christmas holidays is a parade.  The world pandemic, however, has thrown into doubt whether it’s safe to parade through the streets in front of crowds.  The town of Salem has decided it will go forward with its annual parade—to take place at 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon, December 6.  Parade lineup will be at the Eagle Ridge School.  The judging of the entries will take place at 3 pm.  Units will be judged to determine overall winner, best theme, best church, best organization float, best dance, best band.  To register to be in the parade, call Town Hall at 944-2819.
