“Promoter” suspect in custody

The last of nine suspects in a multi-county drug investigation was placed in custody yesterday at the Oconee Detention Center in Walhalla.  The Sheriff’s Office announced that Trenton Michael Thomas, 22-year old Seneca resident, turned himself over to authorities yesterday at the county jail.  Thomas had been wanted on charges of marijuana distribution, distribution of crack cocaine, and conspiracy to traffic cocaine greater than 400 grams.  He is scheduled to be sent today to Richland County, where seven other co-defendants were being held last week.  Oconee Sheriff Mike Crenshaw announced details of “Operation Promoter” during a news conference last week in Walhalla.  Some of the defendants are identified as having worked in the music industry.
