Power restored overnight

In the darkness of the night, crews restored service to another 400 members in the four-county service territory of Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative.  By 5:40 this morning, the number of Oconee Blue Ridge customers without service was 3,273.  At daybreak, more than 500 linemen and other workers will tackle the remaining outages.  Blue Ridge discovered that many of the broken poles must be replaced.  Changing out those poles slows the restoration work, and it leaves Blue Ridge unsure about when all storm-related outages will have been cleared up.
