Police discount story given by burglary suspect

The police aren’t buying the explanation that a Salem man gave them this week as to why he got into a neighbor’s home, uninvited according to the homeowner. Sunrise Drive, Salem resident Andrew Michael Wilson was arrested yesterday and charged with first degree burglary. After getting a report that the homeowner saw a man on the top of his basement stairs, peeking into the living room, a deputy sheriff said he was approached by 38-year old Wilson who said he was a federal law enforcement agent and was playing a game. The Oconee Sheriff’s Office quotes the homeowner as saying he physically removed the man from his home.
