Pill Take Back Day is Saturday

The next Pill Take Back Day, arranged by the Oconee Sheriff’s Office, takes place Saturday at two locations across the county. The events will be 10 to 2 at the Oconee Law Enforcement Center in Walhalla and at the Sheriff’s substation near the Emergency Department of Oconee Memorial Hospital. You can get rid of old or no longer needed prescription medication, in pill or liquid form, along with over-the-counter medication and vitamins, so those medications can be disposed of properly. Lt. Jeremy Chapman requests that, in order to keep the Sheriff’s Office incinerator in good working order, you should bring the medications in their marked prescription bottles and then open the bottles and empty the contents into the available containers and then take the bottles to be recycled.
