Pardon the dust up at lake recreation spot

Timber harvesting starts today at an Army Corps of Engineers’ recreation area in Anderson County.  The timber removal marks the first phase of work to construct additional parking at the Broyles Recreation Area on Lake Hartwell.  During a three-week period, the work will follow a Monday through Thursday schedule, with Labor Day an exception.  The recreation area will remain open, but users should be aware that logging trucks and equipment will use park roads.  To avoid inconvenience, boaters are urged to use ramps at nearby Apple Island, Double Springs, Eighteen Mile, and Green Pond–all in Anderson County.
