New DHEC COVID-19 announcement

A Test to Stay recommendation has now been included by South Carolina DHEC in its COVID-19 Guidance for Childcare Centers.  It is similar to the one being implemented by some South Carolina school districts, but not Oconee County’s. The state health agency encourages schools to use TTS—the Test to Stay program—to better ensure healthy students can continue in-person learning.  TTS allows rapid tests to be done on K-12 students who have been exposed to a COVID-19 infected person in the hope that more of them may remain in class.  About TTS, the Oconee district made this recent statement:  “As of now, the district is going to stay the course with our current guidelines and procedures.  We are seeing a significant decline in the number of cases among students and staff across all schools.1-
