LOLA MAE SMITH

Seneca – Lola Mae Holcombe Smith, 86, wife of the late Ralph Smith, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 5th, 2023 surrounded by her family at AnMed Health Center.

 

Lola was born in Oconee County and was the daughter of the late Lawrence Clinton Holcombe and Eva Mae Bell Crawford Holcombe. Lola previously worked with Cannon Mill in Central, then later at Ingles in Westminster where she was the Deli Manager. The job she was most known, loved, and appreciated for was being a homemaker; where she loved cooking for others and was affectionately known as the “biscuit maker”.

 

Lola is survived by her sons, Steve Smith, Kenneth Smith, and Tyler Smith; daughters, Diane “Annie” Smith, and Cindy “Tredda” Steading (Late Dan Steading); grandchildren, Nichole Smith of Seneca, Lindsey Larke (Ethan) of Greer; and great-grandchildren, Gatlin Smith, Maebell Tyner, Cheyenne Tyner, Emma Tyner, Casey Larke, EJ Tyner, and Greyson Larke.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Lola is preceded in death by her daughter, Rita Mae Smith; brothers, Floyd Holcombe, and Bill Holcombe; and sisters, Shirley H. Armour, Pauline H. Ballard, and Nona H. Craft.

 

A  funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm, Friday, March 10, 2023, at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service at Sandifer Funeral Home.
